Nothing creates the feelgood factor in a tough season better than extra sales - and starting key events earlier definitely starts the tills ringing. Following the US starting Hallowe'en sales in August, Baytree opened their Christmas two weeks earlier then in previous years and have not had any negative comments - in fact customers have commented on how cheering it all is. And they sold six artificial xmas trees at the weekend!
