Bayer Garden Doctor will help retailers meet new obligations
New legislation promoting the sustainable and responsible use of pesticides comes into force in November – and retailers will be expected to play their part in spreading the word to consumers.
A primary aim of the EU’s Sustainable Use Directive is to reduce risks to human health and the environment. Although much of the legislation targets agriculture and commercial horticulture, it will also seek to ensure that consumers are fully informed about the issues and made aware of non-chemical alternatives where appropriate.
Bayer Garden believe their new Garden Doctor point-of-sale touch-screen information system will help retailers meet their obligations under the new rules. It will enable consumers to identify pest and disease problems and flag up solutions, as well as offering general advice on sensible pesticide use.
