Best Garden Centre - Webbs
Midlands wonder store Webbs won seven out of 11 awards at the GCA Midlands Area Presentations last week - and GTN Online was there exclusively to pick out the best retail ideas.
As well as winning Best Garden Centre, based on the highest overall score in this year’s GCA audit, Webbs won Best Retailer, plus titles for Specialist Retailer, Lifestyle Retailer, Best People, Services & Facilities, and Plant Department. GCA Inspector Andy Campbell said Webbs won becuae of their strength across all areas, absolute attention to detail, they are always prepared to learn, constantly striving for improvement, and the whole team is involved.
Most improved garden centre was Fairways, with Baytree winning a special auditor’s award for outstanding achievement. Best Restaurant was Byrkley, while Whitacre created the Best Display Idea.
2009 GCA inspections will be from April 1st – June 15th. Midlands inspector will be Eve Tigwell.
